Yet another Arsenal striker target that has been talked about, and even tried by the Gunners to sign on loan last January has decided to join another club rather than Arsenal.

21-year-old Alvaro Morata is no stranger to Arsenal fans after all the press linking the Real Madrid youngster with a move to the Emirates, but hope of him becoming a Gunner is now over after he signed a five-year contract with Italian Champions Juventus for 20 million euros.

A statement published on the clubs website read: “Juventus Football Club can announce that Alvaro Morata has signed a five-year contract with the club after a fee of €20million, to be paid over three years, was agreed with Real Madrid.

“The deal includes the option for Real Madrid to reacquire the player’s registration rights at the end of the 2015-16 or 2016-17 campaigns, at predetermined values, up to a maximum of €30million. These values will be based on the number of matches played by Morata in the relevant season.”

The fact that Real Madrid wanted to more or less make Morata’s move a loan deal is what ultimately may have led Arsenal to give up their pursuit of the young striker.
