Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is waiting to find out whether or not Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech will be available in the summer before approaching Stamford Bridge says the Daily Mail.

With Wenger expecting any negotiations with Chelsea to be difficult the 65-year-old Frenchman want to make certain he has a realistic chance of signing the Czech international before initiating transfer talks for the 32-year-old former Plzen player.

For his part Cech has already let it be known that he is not content to spend another season being an understudy to Thibaut Courtois, and while Blues boss Jose Mourinho has said he would not stand in Cech’s way if he wants to move it’s hard to imagine the Portuguese manager selling him to a Premiership rival.
