According to reports, Arsenal is considering bidding for Monaco on-loan fullback Fabinho, after the Brazilian impressed Gunners manager Arsene Wenger during the two legs of the clubs Champions League matches, which the French Riviera team won on the away goal rule.

The 21-year-old is a highly adaptable defender who can play either as a full-back or as a central-midfielder playing both positions for the Monegasque side during the two matches an attribute that appeals to Arsene Wenger as he looks for cover in both those positions.

Currently the Brazilian youth international is on loan with the Ligue 1 side, but they do have to option of making a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Should Fabinho refuse to sign with Monaco Arsenal will move in, but they could face competition for Catalan giants Barcelona who are also looking to strengthen their defensive options.
