Arsenal approach Udinese in a bid to sign Italian goalkeeper

According to METRO Arsenal has approached Italian Serie A side Udinese over the possibility of signing goalkeeper Simone Scuffet.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has picked the 17-year-old as his number one choice to be understudy to the Gunners first choice keeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

Despite being very young the Italian has already played in the Udinese first team for league matches and has been a regular starter in recent weeks for the club.

Arsenal scouts have been following his impressive progress, and will now approach Udinese with an offer to try and sign him over the summer.

Tall strong and with excellent reflexes Scuffet has also attracted the attention of Juventus, and with Udinese known to be a breeding club they always drive a hard bargain for any youngsters that come up through their system which means there is no way that Arsenal will be able to  buy him on the cheap.

With Lukasz Fabianski looking to leave the Gunners for first team football elsewhere and on-loan Emiliano Viviano returning to Palermo Scuffet would certainly be an investment for the future.
