Arsenal and Spurs look all set to battle over Southampton’s £20 million rated Morgan Schneiderlin after the French international told his Southampton teammates he would not be back after the World Cup.

So far this summer Southampton has lost their manager Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham, while seeing emerging talent Luke Shaw join Manchester United and both Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana sign for Liverpool.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of the 24-year-old midfielder and is said to be preparing a bid that will match anything Tottenham can offer according to the Daily Star.

New Spurs manager Pochettino however knows Schneiderlin well and is prepared to go above and beyond what Arsenal can offer to bring his former player to White Hart Lane.

Southampton already reeling after losing so many players which could also include Croatian defender Dejan Lovren who is also pushing for a move to Liverpool will have to rely on their new manager Ronald Koeman who will be looking to Holland for reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season.
