This news could end any hope Arsenal fans had of the Gunners signing Porto’s Jackson Martinez with German daily tabloid Bild reporting that three Premiership sides were looking to sign Borussia Dortmund’s speedy attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 26-year-old striker was Dortmund’s top scorer with 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga matches, and has new trainer Thomas Tuchel is keen to hold onto the Gabonese international.
The German tabloid claims that Wenger’s interest in the pacey attacker stems from when Arsenal played Dortmund in the Champions League back in September.
Here at Soccer Transfers we are a little sceptical of Bild’s report as Arsenal already has speedsters in the form of Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, while Aubameyang also does not strike us as the kind of player Blues boss Jose Mourinho sees as a replacement for Didier Drogba.
