The breakthrough came in the 29th minute from a 25 yard free kick that the goalkeeper failed to handle losing out to the oncoming Muntari who finished the play off with a simple tap in.
Two minutes later the match was all but over, when Robinho sent in a perfect pass to Emanuelson who beat the keeper easily.
The third goal came ten minutes into the second half when Robinho took the ball in from the left side unleashing a shot that easily beet Cesena keeper Antonioli.
Cesena got one back in the 65th minute, from Daniel Pudil, but by then it was too late with Milan cruising to a 3-1 win.
