Star Manchester City striker Alvaro Negrado is pushing for a move to his native Spain after hearing hints that Atletico Madrid think he would be the perfect replacement for the Chelsea bound Diego Costa.

The “Beast” as the City fans call Negrado scored 23 goals for City last season and yet despite being on form was surprisingly overlooked for the Spanish World Cup squad, which incidentally had a terrible showing in Brazil failing to make it out of the Group stage.

Negrado joined City last summer from Sevilla for £20.6 million in a four year deal; said to be worth £75,000 per-week a figure Atletico would be willing to beat while also offering Manchester City £24 million for the 28-year-old striker.

In other City news the Daily Mail is reporting that both Juventus and Roma are interested in defender Matija Nastasic, and that Newcastle may go after Micah Richards should Arsenal pursue their interest in French international defender Mathieu Debuchy.
