Manchester United will make one final £20 million bid in the hope of convincing Borussia Dortmund to part with star defender Mats Hummels according to METRO.

United have been trying for the past three transfer windows to get the 25-year-old German international to move to England, but Dortmund has continually said that he is not for sale.

Reports coming out of Germany today say the new United manager Louis van Gaal has sanctioned a final £20 million take it or leave it offer for Hummels which they will present by the end of the week.

Despite being happy at the Westphalia club United feel that they could tempt the German away by making him a huge contract offer that would greatly increase his salary.

Hummels is currently a top target for United after having lost Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, but should they not be able to convince Dortmund to let him go will then take another look at Stefan de Vrij and Thomas Vermaelen.
