Manchester United MUST SIGN BALE if they are to lose De Gea to Real Madrid

It is beginning to appear ever more likely that Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is going to join Real Madrid this summer and with that in mind former Nottingham Forrest player and manager Stuart Pearce feels United should not just lose De Gea for money, but as a bargaining chip to sign Gareth Bale.

“There is lots of speculation he [De Gea] might be leaving and I suspect he might well be,” Pearce said on Drivetime. “Maybe the lure of going back to Spain will be a big pull for him.

“But if he leaves, get a player-exchange sorted out. So if we’re suggesting he’s going to Real Madrid get a good one coming back that will maybe balance the books.”

When asked if that Player should be Bale the former England international added: “Yes. If you could bring Bale through the door for De Gea going out, and bring another goalkeeper in, maybe [Asmir] Begovic or [Hugo] Lloris or someone you feel could be comparable, then all of a sudden losing a goalkeeper of his standing doesn’t look so bad. So that’s a priority.”
