While speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin said that winning the FA Cup will not satisfy Manchester United supporters who would prefer to see their team playing in the Champions League.

The Red Devils have a favourable draw in the fifth round of the competition away to League One side Preston North End making United one of the teams tipped to lift the trophy in May.

Dublin however says that the fans are more interested in the clubs league form that currently sees them in third place despite a slow start to the season.

“I don’t think Man United supporters want to finish fifth and win the FA Cup,” he said.

“It would be a letdown finishing fifth. The fans want more than that.

“Winning the FA cup won’t be enough, they’ve got to finish third [in the Premier League] at least.”
