Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell speaking to the London Evening Standard has said that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger needs to field his strongest possible side against Brighton on Sunday with the FA Cup looking to be up for grabs now that some big names have been knocked out and another two face difficult replays.

“I don’t know if the FA Cup is taken as seriously as it was when I played but it should be treated seriously because it offers Arsenal the best chance of some silverware this season,” said Campbell

“I said before the Wigan game [last season’s FA Cup semi] they have to treat them with respect and do everything right – and the same applies to Brighton away.”

The 40-year-old won the trophy nine times with Arsenal and Portsmouth, and says the Gunners will face a tricky match at the Amex Stadium with the Seagulls expecting a sell-out crowd to cheer them on.

He added: “This could be a tricky tie for Arsenal if they’re not careful. They have to be very respectful of Brighton as they will have a full house behind them and the TV cameras are there to try and capture an upset.
