West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed this morning that Winston Reid will leave Arsenal in the summer.

Reid’s name has been linked with a January move to the Emirates as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks for a quality centre-back to come into the club.

And despite the Upton Park managers quote that the New Zealand international would leave in the summer it makes much more sense for West Ham to try and get something for him now rather than see him walk away for nothing in the summer.

This news now adds to the speculation of Perrin being signed with Reid being three years younger at only 26, and the fact that the Gunners could probably get him for what they were prepared to pay for the St Etienne defender.
