Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly told the club that he would like to sign Lyon defensive midfielder Maxime Gonalons at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old Olympique Lyonnais youth academy graduate has been watched by Arsenal scouts for the past two years, and was linked to a move to the Emirates last summer.
He ended up staying with the Ligue 1 outfit, but reports say Arsenal are ready to sign him after receiving a personal request from Wenger.
Arsenal will not be alone in trying to sign him with both Spurs and Napoli also scouting the French international, who is expected to be sold by Lyon for around £15 million.
