Over the past few weeks Arsenal has been linked with Porto’s Colombian striker Jackson Martinez, yet we do not seem any closer to having the 28-year-old arrive at the Emirates despite the Portuguese club saying he would be allowed to leave if his valuation was met.

Just to remind Wenger that he is not the only manager looking to bring in a quality striker this summer Atletico Madrid has reportedly had their first offer declined.

The consensus at the moment is that the Gunners are waiting for the end of the Copa America in July before making a formal approach, but with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all looking for top strikers the 65-year-old Frenchman might just miss the boss on a player who could help take the Gunners to the next level.
