Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has answered Lukas Podolski’s suggestion that the Frenchman showed a lack of respect following the German international’s loan move to Inter Milan earlier this week.

“He said nothing to me. He did not call me or say goodbye. I don’t need flowers or a kiss from him,” the Germany international was quoted as saying in today’s Sun newspaper.

“But it is about respect, about saying goodbye. For me respect is important. Maybe he had other problems with me.”

Wenger however refutes the comments saying at his press conference ahead of Sundays clash at the Emirates with Stoke: “We spoke many times…he had to have my agreement to go out on loan.”
