Wenger COOLS TALK of signing Real Madrid Striker

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has once more said that he will not be trying to buy Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this January, and that it has nothing to do with the current sex tape scandal in France that the 27-year-old is involved with, but because he believes Gunners front-man Olivier Giroud is already of the same calibre as Benzema.

The Arsenal forward proved Wenger’s claim by scoring a hat-trick against Olympiacos Wednesday night in Piraeus to increase his goal tally to 10 goals in his last 12 games for the Gunners.

“I think he’s in that league because he plays for one of the best clubs in Europe and he scores goals,” the Gunners boss said.

“If you look at the number of games and the number of goals, you have to give him credit.

“He’s not only a goal-scorer, he’s a guy who puts work in for the team. I think he’s among the best strikers in Europe.

“I believe recently he has come back with an improved game and with his finishing. Wednesday was one of his best performances on all fronts.”

After all the praise he just put on Giroud , it was only right that he dismiss talk of signing Benzema.

“We just said that Olivier Giroud is a great striker, so behind that we cannot buy Karim Benzema,” he added.
