Liverpool, Tottenham, Swansea

Tottenham appears to be moving ever closer to their first signing of the transfer window with Sky Sports reporting that they are on the verge of signing Liverpool target Ben Davies from Swansea.

Sky Sports is saying that the two clubs have been involved in talks for the past two-weeks and that the 21-year-old Welsh international is keen on a move to White Hart Lane.

Meanwhile Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is holding out hoping for a better deal, perhaps thinking now that Liverpool have failed to sign Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno for £16 million the Reds will revive their interest in Davies.

Tottenham is also desperate for a left-back after having to use centre-back Jan Vertonghen last season to fill in for the injured Danny Rose for much of the season.
