The real reason as to why LVG has dropped Adnan Januzaj

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has apparently dropped Adnan Januzaj from the team after having accused the young Belgium of trying to score goals from corner kicks.

According to the Daily Mail Januzaj was involved in a private dual with Andreas Pereira to see who could score the most goals from corners and is now being punished for excessive showboating in an Under-21 fixture against Sunderland on January 25, after he successfully managed to find the back of the net from a corner versus Oldham in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

The Mail claims that staff pointed out to van Gaal what was going on and the Dutchman to a negative view on the pair for putting their private game ahead of the team’s best interests.

The 21-year-old winger was once regarded as a possible Red Devils great before the arrival of van Gaal at the club, with the Dutchman quickly dispatching the youngster to Borussia Dortmund in order to get more playing time.

Unfortunately things did not go as planned for Januzaj in Germany with the Bundesliga side returning him to Old Trafford where he has been relegated to the shadows.

Likewise, Pereira has barely featured in Louis Van Gaal’s side, racking up only four substitute appearances in all competitions so far this season.
