West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has vowed to bring in more players as the club looks to do everything to cement their place in the Premier League.

Sullivan promises more West Ham signings

Sullivan promised to make the squad stronger following promotion to the top-flight and kept to his word during the summer when he played a major role in the arrival of 11 new players at the club.

Despite the east Londoners facing a huge debt, Sullivan and his co-owner David Gold have put in an additional £25m to help bring the likes of England forward Andy Carroll and record signing Matt Jarvis to Upton Park.

Sullivan is refusing to rule out the prospect of more new faces arriving when the window re-opens in the New Year and says he will continue to back Sam Allardyce in the transfer market.

The former Birmingham chief said: “We feel we have spent our money wisely and have assembled a squad that will perform well over the season. We will look to fine-tune it in January before further investments next summer.

“This year we have agreed to put in up to another £25m, mainly to pay down more inherited debt, but also to fund the purchase and wages of the players we signed.

“Sadly our money does not come out of the ground as we are not oil billionaires. Instead we are using our life savings – money we have worked hard for and money that we have paid full UK tax on throughout our lifetimes.”
