After watching the match this afternoon and Luis Suarez ever since he came to play for Liverpool after today’s performance it is obvious to me that he is one of the best strikers in the world.

While I know he has committed to play football for Liverpool after signing a new contract that tripled his salary from £40,000 to £120,000 a-week it is still not on par with the world’s top strikers some of whom earn £200,000 plus a week.

I only hope that Liverpool can achieve a fourth place finish, but I feel it is going to be a tough task this season no matter who we sign in January.

Interestingly to day there is talk of Dutch International Wesley Sneijder coming to Anfield, but while Liverpool may be able to pick him up relatively cheap at £9.5 million his wage demands are the reason Inter Milan want to get rid of him, and I cannot see Liverpool paying the £200,000 per week he is said to be looking for.

At the end of the day Liverpool are going to have to spend in order to get us back in the top flight, and I think if we do not do this we can say goodbye to Suarez in the summer never mind what he said when signing a new contract for the Reds.

“The new contract with Liverpool is unbelievable for me. I am so happy here with the club and in the city,” Suarez explained.

“I hope to play for many years here. This is a great team and everyone around the world knows Liverpool.

“I know what the manager wants. I spoke with him last week and he spoke fantastic. He wants to play with the ball all the time and that is very important.

“I have signed because we hope for the best position. Every year Liverpool has been looking at the Champions League and that is what we aim at now.”

It is all up to you FSG either get us in the Champions League or sell your best player to a club that can give him what he wants.
