Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has played down talk of him moving to Manchester United , claiming that people are ‘getting ahead of themselves ‘when it comes to talking about him moving to Old Trafford.

With Real Madrid expected to make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea once the transfer window opens tomorrow, the talk is that Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has already earmarked the French international as his replacement on the field of dreams.

Speaking ahead of Sundays friendly with Belgium the Spurs shot stopper insisted that it was too early to speculate about him leaving White Hart Lane.

Lloris told Telefoot: “You’re getting ahead of yourselves.”

“For the moment, there is a keeper in place at Manchester United. Keep a cool head over it.”

The 28-year-olds comments come just a week after Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had a go over the rumours insisting the French international was happy where he was.

“There have been a lot of rumours, but Hugo wants to stay with us and we are happy with him too,” said Pochettino.

“He is happy and everything else is just rumour.”
