Betting intelligence company Sportradar’s integrity manager Ben Paterson explains how they track and monitor European football games for Uefa, picking out the ones which are likely to be fixed through close analysis of betting patterns. Paterson says out of 30,000 games they are asked to monitor about 250-300 are highlighted as being fixed. Using their programme Fraud Detection Sportsradar is able to garner information in real time as a game develops, a fascinating insight into a global sports betting industry estimated to be worth a trillion US dollars a year.
