Following last night’s 3-2 defeat at home to visiting Basque side Athletic Bilbao Sir Alex has said the Premier League has written to him asking him not to comment on the vacant England manager’s job.

Sir Alex told to stop talking about the England job

Sir Alex has let it be known on numerous occasions that he thinks Tottenham’s Harry Rednapp has the credentials and would be the perfect man for the job.

Ferguson is well respected in the football world, and he knows how difficult it would be for a manager to take over an England side immediately before the start of a big tournament such as Euro 2012.

The Premier League however sees things differently, and has Ferguson to stop talking about the subject.

Perhaps they feel this is having an unsettling effect on Spurs as we move towards the final part of the season.

When asked about the letter by reporters Sir Alex had this to say: “The Premier League has written to me asking me not to talk about the England manager’s job,” the Scot said. “I don’t know why.”
