Colombian ace striker Carlos Bacca will be allowed to sign for Liverpool only if the Merseyside club comes up with the £21.5 million needed to trigger his release clause with Sevilla.

The 28-year-old striker scored his age in La Liga last season finding the back of the net 28-times which has had several Premiership clubs including both Liverpool,Arsenal and Manchester United.

This has Sevilla sporting director Monchi saying they will only sell him if his release clause is met.

‘If someone wants Bacca, they have to pay his clause. He’s told us that it’s his desire to stay with the club and I don’t see any other possibility,’ he said.

‘Bacca’s contract includes obligations for the club and the player, but if a club wants to pay his clause, there’s nothing we can do about that.’

Any deal will most likely be completed once he returns from international duty.
