Jonjo Shelvey, 20, scored twice as Rodgers’ rookies blasted five goals — the last time the Reds did that in a European away tie was in a 2001 Champions League qualifier with Finnish side Haka.
Liverpool boss Rodgers said: “It is a night of great pride.
“The youngsters were courageous and brave. It was a chance for them to seize the opportunity and they did that.
“To come away from home in Europe with a young side and score five is magnificent.”
LIVERPOOL are in talks with Danish defender Daniel Agger, 27, on a new contract worth up to £80,000 a week.
