Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand is willing to snub a 10million fortune to stay at Old Trafford. The former England defender is set to sign a new deal at Manchester United, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Offers from China, America and the Middle East have offered Rio a staggering £300,000 a week, TREBLING his current wages at Manchester United.

However, Ferdinand will open talks with Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gilla before the end of this month in hope if signing a new deal at the club he has spent 11 years.

Rio has even accepted a wage-cut from United to remain at Old Trafford, in order to win more silverware.

The club are not willing to match his current £110,000-a-week wages but Ferdinand is open to offers in the region of around £60,000 a week.

The centre-back has told his advisors that medals and not money is his main motivation as both parties get set to start negotiations.
