Attention Manchester United fans as Spanish sports newspaper AS has the chilling headline of Real Madrid reportedly ready to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea in June if United is willing to sell him at what they consider to be a “reasonable price”.
In what the paper calls “Operation De Gea” should Los Blanco’s fail in their attempt to sign the 24-year-old Spanish international this summer they would offer De Gea a deal that would see him move to the Santiago Bernabeu for free in 2016 when his current contract at Old Trafford is up, and in the interim would make a move for Chelsea number two keeper Petr Cech.
Whatever goes down it is now obvious that current Madrid starter Iker Casillas is now playing his last season as Carlo Ancelotti’s number one, with Real now giving him plenty of notice to make the first move and either retire of move to a different team.
