Keen to avoid another end of season scrap with either Aston Villa or Newcastle United, QPR striker Charlie Austin has made it clear he is only interested in joining a guaranteed top-half club or remain with the Hoops in the Championship.
The 26-year-old scored 18 goals in the Premiership last season, leading a very week QPR as they eventually failed to remain in the top flight.
Both Tottenham and Chelsea need another striker, with Austin hoping they will meet QPR’s £15 million valuation, and that he will be able to remain in the Premiership.
QPR manager Chris Ramsey told talkSPORT: “We have to be realistic. It’s unlikely he’ll stay. We want to keep him but it’s unlikely.
“He’s aiming to go to a team that’s in the top half of the table, if he doesn’t then he could stay.”
