Simon Grayson, Preston’s manager has been busy putting his plan together after Deepdale went crazy yesterday when finding out they would face the mighty Manchester United at home in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

If the League One minnows could upset United and win, it will not be the first time Grayson has taken Goliath down after having been the manager of the Leeds United team that upset United at Old Trafford in a third round tie back in 2010.

It was the first time in 27 years that Sir Alex Ferguson had lost to a club from a lower division, and the only time he ever suffered an exit in the third round of the competition.

Add to this that two of the Leeds player who caused the upset midfielder Neil Kilkenny and goal scorer, striker Jermaine Beckford now play for Preston.

Talking about the upcoming match Grayson told the Daily Express: “We have gone through to face Manchester United at home, one of the biggest clubs around.

“When Leeds beat them a few years ago that was a fantastic day. This is a different club, a different team, but we will look forward to this tie just like Leeds did.

“We will enjoy the moment to ply our trade against the best players when it comes round because we have two important League matches before then.

“It will be lovely to see Deepdale full. It is a massive boost for the club with the profile it gives us and the revenue which can come in.

“The club deserves it – they’ve not had many ties like this in the last few years.”
