Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been tracking Porto midfielder Ruben Neves with an eye to a transfer according to the Daily Mirror’s Liam Corless.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder was so Impressive during Porto’s win over Chelsea when they met in the Champions League that manager Jose Mourinho was said to be prepared to pay the Portuguese club £29 million for him next summer.

Meanwhile both Arsenal and Liverpool have been scouting him with both Arsene Wenger and Jürgen Klopp looking to sign a defensively minded midfielder for cover in their current teams.

Portuguese international Neves however is quite happy to stay with his current club Porto, who he joined as an eight-year-old telling the club magazine: “To hear the president say that he wants to make me a symbol of the club? It’s fantastic. This made me feel very proud.”

“I am under contract until June 2019 and, at the moment, I am only thinking about the club achieving its goals.”
