According to Portuguese sports publication O Jogo Arsenal will have to pay a whopping $40 million if they want to sign Benfica forward Goncalo Guedes.

The Gunners have had the man dubbed to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo on their radar for some time but will now have to meet his £40 million release clause after the 18-year-old just signed a new contract at the Estádio da Luz despite still not having made his league debut for the club.

Guedes’s new contract runs until 2021, and if the Gunners want to bring the Portugal U-19 to the Emirates any time soon they will now have to fork out a massive transfer fee.
