MANUEL PELLEGRINI has warned Manchester City’s ‘egomaniacs’ he is not afraid to stamp his authority on the club.

The Etihad side’s manager-in-waiting said: “I’m a dictator because footballers have to obey but I’m a democrat because I have to convince them if I want them to do it.

“If you want to be a coach, you have to show authority.

“A coach has to be a leader — he has to manage 25 footballers with different ages, idiosyncrasies, mentalities that have a common interest. But, at the same time, they are egomaniacs.”

Few tears have been shed at City this week following the dismissal of Roberto Mancini 48 hours after their FA Cup final horror show.

Significantly NONE of the City stars who use Twitter posted any kind of message to the out-going boss.

Pellegrini, 59, showed his ruthless streak at Villarreal when he axed Juan Roman Riquelme after a row about compassionate leave.

The Malaga chief recalled: “I sacked Riquelme. And if you ask me if I would sack him again, I would say yes.”
