Despite all the talk of Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal going after PSG’s Edinson Cavani, t reports coming out of Italy this morning say that Manchester United has forced their way into negotiations with Arsenal and Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain and have now agreed a deal which will see the Argentinian international move to Old Trafford.

The report suggests a five-year contract has been agreed to by the former Real Madrid star and Manchester United, yet no agreement as to a transfer fee between Napoli and United has been agreed to.

The 27-year-old leaving Napoli has been on the cards for some time after suggestions of him not being able to settle at Napoli have been doing the rounds, and with the Italians failing to qualify for the Champions League it is no surprise that Higuain’s time in Italy will come to an end.

Meanwhile Chelsea and Arsenal may still want to make Napoli an offer of their own, but if LVG is set on Higuain our money would be on seeing him playing at Old Trafford next season.
