Manchester United have decided that should they lose goalkeeper David De Gea to Real Madrid they will make Tottenham shot stopper Hugo Lloris their number one target with a bid of £25 million for the former Lyon goalkeeper.
David De Gea is been heavily tipped to join the European champions in the summer as trainer Carlo Ancelotti looks to replace the 33-year-old Iker Casillas.
Reports coming out of Spain today suggest that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is willing to meet Spurs asking price of £25 million for the 28-year-old Lloris should he lose De Gea to Los Blanco’s.
De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes however remains confident that a deal can be reached with Manchester United that will see the 24-year-old Spanish international remain at Old Trafford.
However, De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes appears confident of putting pen to paper on a new deal at Old Trafford.
“I am negotiating with Manchester United about De Gea’s renewal,” the representative said.
“It is not true that De Gea has found a deal with Real Madrid. I’m negotiating with Manchester United his extension.
“We’re holding talks and at this moment it seems he could continue with United, but as I say, we haven’t signed anything yet.”
