Manchester United winger Memphis Depay was read the riot act by assistant manager Ryan Giggs following his display in the match against Arsenal after being yanked off at half-time for his failure to track back, and help out a Red Devils defence that conceded three goals in 20 minutes.

Following the loss to the Gunners, the mood in the United camp suffered another blow when it came to light that Depay was a big fan of the nightlife and had been photographed out and about town more than any other player.

Since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in the summer for £25 million the 21-year-old has failed to live up to his record goal-scoring in the Dutch league, managing to find the back of the net just three times, with all of the goals against lesser Champions League opposition.

Senior staff at Old Trafford are said to be not impressed by the youngsters flashy lifestyle, and have told Giggs to tell him to tone it down while he comes to grips with the demands of Premier League football.
