The Daily Express is reporting that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal may at last have gotten hold of the one player he has wanted to bring to Old Trafford, and that is Galatasaray star Wesley Sneijder.
The Dutch international had been linked to Italian Serie A Champions Juventus, but the English tabloid is reporting that the Italians have now turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
This now means that United would be free to make a move for the 30-year-old winger after having missed out on him last summer.
This combined with the fact that Sneijder is desperate to leave Istanbul and would jump at the chance to work with van Gaal could be excellent news for the Red Devils as they strive for a top-four finish to the season.
