Manchester United offer Torino 15€ for Italian international defender

According to La Gazzetta, Manchester United has made an offer for Torino’s Matteo Darmian.

The 25-year-old Italian international full-back has been impressive playing in Serie a last season and also for the Azzurri after having been called up to the first team 12 month ago.

Earlier reports suggested Napoli wanted to sign the tough-tackling defender but were put off by Torino’s £14 million asking price, a fee Louis van Gaal will pay for a solid defender he can put straight into the first-team at Old Trafford.

And while Darmian may not be the biggest name on the market, he can run all day and has an uncanny knack of finding himself in the right place when going forward.

We here at Soccer Transfers feel this is a very good signing for the money and hope that La Gazetta is right in saying the Red Devils have offered the Italians 12€ million plus 3€ million in bonuses to seal a deal which is just £3 million short of Torino’s asking price.

We think LVG should meet the Italian’s fee and jump all over this deal before another team does.
