According to reports coming out of France this morning Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are in talks over Brazilian defender Marquinhos.

Apparently United manager Louis van Gaal has decided that signing a quality centre-back next summer is his number one priority signalling out the 20-year-old Brazilian as the man he wants to bring to Old Trafford.

French radio station, Radio Monte Carlo is saying that representatives from the English club have already been in touch with the Brazilians people over a move to Old Trafford next summer.

Despite his young age Marquinhos has already been capped four times by Brazil, and is coveted by the French champions who signed him two seasons ago from AS Roma for £20 million.

In order to tempt the Parc des Princes side United will have to offer much more than the Parisians originally paid or perhaps add United winger Angel Di Maria into the equation after reports in this morning’s Guardian newspaper suggest he may be sold in the summer to bring in money for other players.
