Manchester United and Tottenham are set to go head to head for PSV winger Memphis Depay, who is being talked about as one of Europe’s brightest young stars.

Both Premiership teams have watched the 20-year-old become Holland’s youngest ever player to score a goal in the World Cup finals last summer in Brazil when he scored against Australia.

Spurs were looking at the £15 million rated player as a replacement for 27-year-old Aaron Lennon, while Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal knows all about the youngster’s talent after naming him to his World Cup squad.

LVG would be looking at using Depay to replace Belgium youngster Adnan Januzaj, who was given a rare start at the Abbey Stadium against Cambridge United, but failed to impress.

It is believed that LVG would be open to a loan move for Januzaj who flourished under David Moyes but has hit bottom while trying to impress LVG.

Meanwhile Depay would love to prove himself in the Premiership, but it may have to wait until the summer as PSG fight to become Dutch champions.
