Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that the whole David De Gea signing for Real Madrid situation has led to tension between the young Spaniard and Manchester United.

The two giants of football apparently hit an impasse over negotiations when Manchester United started to make real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos a contingency in allowing De Gea to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, while the Spanish team was reluctant to pay what they considered an over-inflated price for a player they could sign as a free agent the coming summer.

“We have a situation that is not favourable for David de Gea, neither for us and neither for the club that, maybe, he wants to go,” Van Gaal said. When asked what the best solution was for all parties, Van Gaal said: “We have to wait and see. It is the same question as your predecessor.”
