According to Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet the club will welcome a new striker to their ranks next month who possesses all the talents to become a star at Anfield.

Belgium international Divock Origi was signed last summer by Liverpool, but was allowed to remain on loan with Ligue 1 side Lille for the 2014/2015 season, and will now join up with his new team next month.

Mignolet who knows Origi from his time with the Belgium squad thinks that the 20-year-old will only improve once he arrives on Merseyside.

“He’s only young but on the other side he’s also quite experienced, having played in Ligue 1 in France and with the Belgian national team,” he told the official Liverpool FC magazine.

“He’s got a lot of ability, he is quick and can score a goal and he is willing to work for the team and put pressure on defences.

“He’s got a great attitude, so what more do you want? I am looking forward to when he is going to join.”

Mignolet also promised to help the youngster settle to the life in England.

“I remember when I was younger and first came over to England, it was important to have someone at Sunderland like Bolo Zenden who spoke my language,” he explained.

“I’m always ready to do that with anyone who comes into the team, and obviously being Belgian it should help Divock.

“I’ve helped a few guys in the past because I speak a fair few languages and I know when you come into a new side and a new country it’s not always easy to settle.

“It’s nice for me, too, to have a compatriot coming into the team. It means that I won’t be the only Belgian anymore so it will be easier for me to fight my corner!”
