Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is about to join Liverpool after the Reds agreed to pay the Midlands clubs asking price for the 24-year-old Belgium international.
Liverpool have been trying to decide if Benteke was right for them for some time now, and with news yesterday that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was interested in bringing him to Old Trafford, the Reds stepped in and agreed to Villas price according to the Liverpool Echo.
Now the emphasis is on Manchester United to make an offer, and failing that Benteke will undergo a medical at Anfield before becoming the clubs seventh signing of the season.
