Due to the financial situation in Italian football, Serie A clubs are finding it difficult to compete with the Premiership when it comes to wages they can afford to pay players.

Liverpool is prepared to use this to their advantage as they go after AS Roma’s Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic and his teammate Belgium international Radja Nainggolan as the Reds prepare for life without Captain Steven Gerrard according to the Daily Star.

To add to this pair Liverpool are staying in the eternal city and going after former Barcelona youngster and now Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao.

Liverpool tried to sign the 19-year-old last summer but failed, and are confident now that a £25 million bid should see him move to Merseyside.

After a record £5 billion was just bid for broadcasting rights Liverpool realize how important it will be to qualify for the Champions League, and are prepared to spend this summer in order to have a team capable of finishing in the top-four next season.
