Liverpool to battle Arsenal for Juventus striker

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly set all his transfer plans around acquiring Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

The 22-year-old Spaniard joined the Italian champions from Real Madrid last summer for 20€ million with the Spanish Giants also retaining the right to buy him back for £25 million.

So far however he has found little joy in Italy scoring only six goals for the Old Lady so this season giving rise to the prospect of Juventus looking to pick up a quick buck.

And according to reports in Spain, Liverpool want to make him their marquee summer signing, as they plan to offload Italian strikers Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and former Southampton man Rickie Lambert.

A stumbling block for the Reds could be Arsenal who has also showed interest in the 6ft 3in striker, but the biggest problem will arise should Real Madrid take up their buy-back clause.
