Reports in Italy suggest that Liverpool is ready to pay Serie A side Roma £23.5 million for Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic, as they prepare for life without Captain Steven Gerrard.

The Reds have identified the 24-year-old pass-master as the ideal replacement for the Liverpool legend, and with Real Madrid also showing an interest Liverpool may have to work quickly to secure a move.

Currently Pjanic earns £53,000 per-week with Liverpool said to be prepared to up his wages to £60,000 per-week if he decides to move to Anfield.
