Liverpool has reportedly made a shock bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

The 27-year-old former Guadalajara hit-made spent all of last season on loan at Real Madrid, and due to the fact then trainer Carlo Ancelotti had so many stars to choose from got very little playing time and was allowed to return to Old Trafford once the season finished.

Meanwhile Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has no place in his plans for the Mexican international and will look to offload him to the highest bidder.

Currently Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is overhauling all but one of his strikers for next season, and according to Spanish press AS, Hernandez is on the Northern Irishman’s list of targets.

Manchester United of course would prefer not to sell to a Premiership rival and with Juventus and Inter Milan also interested they have other options available.
