Liverpool, Chelsea

Liverpool needing to bring in a new goalkeeper for dropped keeper Simon Mignolet has now become a January priority for Reds manager Brendan Rodgers, and with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho not dismissing the idea that he would allow Chelsea number two keeper Petr Cech to go out on loan Rodgers has a ready-made world class keeper at his disposal.

It all comes down to Chelsea though and with the Blues still involved in four-competitions manager Jose Mourinho might be a little reluctant to let Cech leave even though he would not at this time see Liverpool as a rival to Chelsea’s fortunes.

For a while there was talk that Liverpool had done a deal signing Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa for £3 million a claim Liverpool have since rubbished as not true.

Another January transfer that is on the cards for Liverpool could be Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya after his agent Juande Dios Carrasco told the Daily Mirror that he wants to leave the Nou Camp saying: “He is going to go in January and all that has to be done is to reach an agreement with Barcelona.

“There are a number of clubs in England that are ready to negotiate for him and his buy-out clause is 20 million euros.”
