Ever since the deal to sign Loic Remy fell through Liverpool has been on the search for another striker, with now Italian international Mario Balotelli a possible target after the praise Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been pouring on him ahead of tonight’s pre-season friendly clash with AC Milan in North Carolina.

Rodgers said: “Balotelli has all the qualities. He’s 6’3”, he’s quick, his touch is terrific, he can score goals and he’s still so young.

“I saw that in this time at Inter as a young player and obviously going to Manchester City when we had a real close eye on him there.

“He’s a big talent.”

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Balotelli is available for around £14 million, and after what Rodgers said of the Italian frontman Liverpool may well make an offer especially now that another striker option PSG hitman Ezequiel Lavezzi is said to prefer a move to Juventus rather than to Liverpool.
