Liverpool striker Fabio Borini will not be leaving the club in January according to his agent Marco De Marchi.

Borini has struggled to nail down a spot in Brendan Rodgers team making just nine appearances for the club despite a successful spell on loan at Sunderland, adding to rumours that Gus Poyet would like to sign him for the Black Cats.

Borini turned down the chance to make his loan move permanent and now has the attention of several Serie A clubs.

The 23-year-old’s agent says Borini will once more turn down the opportunity to leave the club wanting to still prove himself on Merseyside.

“Borini will not return to Italy in January. He is happy with Liverpool, the club he is playing for,” De Marchi told SportItalia.
